Marc Prensky - Digital Natives

Recently, Prensky has moved on from the terms 'digital native' and 'digital immigrant' (created 2001), as they somewhat imply that everyone born after a certain date knows everything about technology, which is not true. Instead, he has come up with the umbrella term of 'digital wisdom'. His current view is:

"The Digital Natives / Digital Immigrants metaphor is NOT about what people know, or can do, with technology. Everyone has to learn in one way or another. It’s more about culture and attitudes."

The theory expresses that many of the attitudes that people who grew up in the pre-digital times clash with the Natives', whose attitudes were formed in the new digital age (separate from what each may know about technology works).
